LATEST: Rapper DMX has been sentenced to time served following charges of drug possession in Florida.
The 37-year-old star - real name Earl Simmons - pleaded guilty on Wednesday (27Aug08) to attempted marijuana and cocain possession.
The rapper remains in custody in Miami, Florida jail, where he awaits authorities world Health Organization will quiz him on drug and animal ruthlessness charges in Arizona.
Simmons was denied bail earlier this week (beg25Aug08) due to the striking Arizona warrant.
According to Simmons' lawyer, Bradford Cohen, the rapper would have remained behind parallel bars until his October (08) trial engagement had he not pleaded guilty in the case.
